Coimbatore, Nov 07: Ruling out any electoral alliance
with AIADMK, Tamil Nadu unit of CPI-M today summarily rejected
state Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's appeal seeking cooperation
of left parties in setting up a non-BJP, non-Congress
government at the Centre.
"With what face and temerity Jayalalithaa is seeking the
cooperation of left parties," CPI(M) state secretary, N
Varadharajan asked at a press conference here.
Terming as "ridiculous" the appeal made by Jayalalithaa in the state assembly yesterday, Varadharajan alleged that “AIADMK has virtually damaged the state and suppressed the interests and rights of the common people during its rule.”
After 'victimising' Tamil Nadu government employees, the Chief Minister wanted to harass the central government employees also. "Does she expect our cooperation in this", he asked.
When asked what prompted Jayalalithaa to make such an appeal, Varadharajan said "probably her partymen wanted her to become the future prime minister of the country".
Though the central committee of the party is meeting in Kolkata for three days starting November 13 to discuss various issues, including poll strategy, "I categorically rule out any electoral alliance with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu," Varadharajan said.
