New Delhi, Oct 27: Affirming that historically, legally and constitutionally, Jammu and Kashmir was an irrevocable part of India, Minister of State for Defence Chaman Lal Gupta said Pakistan has no locus standi in the state. Accusing Islamabad of attempting to distort the ground realities, he warned that Pakistani rulers would have to face the global wrath if they continue to abet cross-border terrorism.
He said by indulging in infiltration, Islamabad was putting people of the state to sufferings and miseries.
Addressing refugees from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, including those from Chamb area at his residence, the minister said Pakistan could no more fool the world by denouncing terrorism on one hand and then perpetrating terrorism in the name of 'jehad' in Kashmir.
Referring to activities of certain groups of secessionists, Gupta said these elements had always played to the tunes of forces who were hostile to India but asserted that their numbers were limited and that they had always failed to carry the masses with them. The representatives from the border areas narrated their woes to the minister on how Pakistani troops were targeting border villages and causing immense sufferings. Bureau Report
