High-octane action was the big winner at the North American box office this weekend. The street-racing adventure "2 Fast 2 Furious" took the top spot, racking up more than $52 million (USD) in its debut outing. It was an impressive showing for the sequel, especially since producers had to make do without the original film's star, Vin Diesel. Instead, "2 Fast" features a number of lesser-known names including Paul Walker and musician-turned actor Tyrese. Meanwhile, audiences kept up their love affair with the deep blue sea. The animated film "Finding Nemo" dropped to second place from the number one spot last week, but still picked up a tidy $45.8 million dollars. Jim Carrey's latest comedy made it into the number three spot, extending the film's already successful run. "Bruce Almighty" picked up another $21 million dollars, giving it a total of more than $170 million to date . "The Italian Job," starring Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron, checked in at number four, giving the heist flick a respectable second week in theatres. Thanks to the addition of several hundred new screens, the film was able to take in just over $13 million dollars this weekend.
