Tokyo, Oct 15: Disgraced former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori today said for the first time that he is working towards running in Peru's 2006 presidential election. "I'm working for my candidacy in 2006," Fujimori told a news agency in an exclusive interview in Tokyo, where he has been living in exile since November 2000.

It is the first time since he gave up the presidency in the wake of a corruption scandal that Fujimori has personally voiced his intention to run again for the post. Bureau Report
