London, Aug 14: Despite the elections, Pakistan is once again under a military dictator and this phase will end as the people believe in the vision of democratic nation of the founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah, former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has said. "Pakistan is once again under the military dictatorship. It is being governed not by a representative government but being run by the chief of Army staff," Bhutto said while launching a book here last night. "We know that this phase will end as the people of Pakistan believe in the vision of Qaid-e-Azam," she said. Stating that she believed in the political awareness of the people, Bhutto said "the people of Pakistan want to live in peace with India and Afghanistan." The 352-page book entitled 'bhutto Khandan- Jahd-e-Musalsal' (Bhutto Family: A Continuing Struggle) was written by Bashir Riaz, press spokesman to Benazir Bhutto.
The book revolves around the struggle of the Bhutto family, the formative years of the Pakistan People's Party, the struggle of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto whose charisma and mass hypnotic appeal made him the undisputed mass leader of the nation, the debacle of East Pakistan, the fall of Bhutto's government, the tyranny of Gen Zia-Ul-Haq, 'judicial murder' of Bhutto, the long struggle of Benazir Bhutto, Bhutto's first "era" and the great intrigues against her government, her second "era" as Prime Minister, the killing of Murtaza Bhutto and the betrayal of Farooq Leghari.
