Arwal (Bihar), June 15: Activists of the People's War today killed two persons, including a mukhiya, at Sendhwan village in Bihar's Arwal district, police said. The killing was an apparent retaliation to the arrest of the state chief of the banned Naxalite group, Arvind alias Dev Kumar Singh, four days back, they said.

Police said that heavily armed PW ultras attacked the house of the mukhiya of Nihalpur Panchayat, Ram Iqbal Sharma, in the Kinjar police station area when he was chairing an executive meeting of the Panchayat and shot him dead along with a ward member, Nand Kumar Bind.

The mukhiya was a supporter of the Ranvir Sena, they said.

Arvind, now in judicial custody, was arrested by a team of Special Task Force from a house in Patna on June 11 night along with his accomplice, Umesh Singh.
