Washington, Sept 13: Leading aircraft manufacturer Boeing today said it was taking disciplinary action against six employees, following its investigation into allegations
that they were involved in corporate espionage against rival Lockheed Martin Corp.
Although, company sources refused to divulge the details of what action would be taken against the erring employees, none of them were fired. However, they said the head of its Delta IV military rocket programme, Thomas Alexiou, was being demoted, reported a business journal.
The move is being seen as Boeing's efforts to persuade the Air Force that the company has cleaned up its ethical lapses and should be reinstated as a pentagon rocket supplier, said the report citing unidentified sources. In July, the Air Force temporarily banned Boeing from such work and withdrew from the company about USD one billion in rocket orders after finding the company had illicitly obtained thousands of pages of its rival's documents in the late 1990s. Bureau Report
