Clinton cancelled visit on advice of US secret service
New Delhi, Apr 10: Former US President Bill Clinton cancelled his scheduled private visit to India earlier this year because of security concerns raised by US secret service, Rajya Sabha was informed today.

Stating this in a written reply, Minister of State for
external affairs Digvijay Singh said the government had learnt
of the cancellation only through media reports.
The minister said the government understands the cancellation of the visit was in the context of general security concerns raised by the US for its officials and citizens due to situation relating to Iraq and was not specific to India. Bureau Report
