Mumbai, Feb 23: Hearing on the bail applications of the five accused in the 1999 multi-crore MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission) scandal have been adjourned till March 3. Adjourning the bail applications of former chairman of MPSC P D Wani, Jaya Kadam, wife of former Superintendent of Police Baban Kadam, Manisha Nichat, Pramod Kadam and Sunil Patil (agents), Bombay High Court judge Justice A S Aguiar fixed March 3 for hearing on the arguments on the applications. The accused have moved the bail application on 'merit' stating that the investigation has been completed and they are ready to cooperate with investigating agency. The scam was unearthed on June 29, 2002 following a complaint lodged by MPSC secretary to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Worli about the malpractices in examination conducted by the commission. The investigating agency has seized property worth over Rs 10-crore from the accused.
