Aizawl, Nov 12: Senior BJP leader and union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region C P Thakur today denied allegations that his party was intent on driving out christians from mizoram and described them as vicious propaganda before the state assembly polls. "There is a vicious propaganda against BJP in the ongoing assembly poll campaign that it is intent on driving out the christians from the state. Such a propaganda is baseless," Thakur told a press conference here.
Accusing congress of violating the guidelines of the coordianation committee of churches not to misutilise election fund, Thakur said "the Congress is violating the church guidelines, while BJP is totally adhering to it by minimising poll expenses."
Thakur, here to campaign for BJP for the Novemebr 20 Mizoram Assembly polls, also alleged that the Congress had not done any worthwhile work during its 14 year-long rule in the state.
He denied that THE bjp had entered into a "secret understanding" with the ruling Mizo National Front and said any tie-up with it would be decided taking into account the post-poll scenario.
BJP, he claimed, would play a vital role in the formation of the government in mizoram though the party had fielded only eight candidates out of the total assembly strength of 40.
Asked whether his party would enter into any coalition with the political parties in the state, Thakur said that too would depend on the post-poll situation.
