Jaipur, Nov 26: The elected MLAs of the Congress would choose their leader if voted to power in Rajasthan and refer their choice to party high command for approval, Congress general secretary and state incharge Ambika Soni said today. "There is no doubt that Ashok Gehlot is leading the party in the state, but I cannot comment further as I have no power to say whether Gehlot will be or will not to be the CM in case the party emerges victorious after the December 01 polls," Soni told.
"We never imposed any candidate as a chief ministerial candidate...we go by consensus and democracy within the party," she said, apparently taking a dig at BJP for projecting Vasudhara Raje as its chief ministerial candidate.
Claiming that the Congress would return to power on the basis of its governance and all-round development in the state, she alleged that opposition BJP was indulged in 'negative propaganda' and using 'indecent language' which was against Rajasthan's culture and tradition. Bureau Report
