Lucknow, Sept 14: Former Uttar Pradesh minister Amarmani Tripathi retracted his allegation of a political conspiracy by Samajwadi Party to implicate him in Madhumita Shukla's murder when CBI grilled him for the second consecutive day in the case, CBI sources said today. Tripathi, who recently joined SP, retracted his allegations against party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, during the four-hour questioning last night, they said. Meanwhile, CBI sleuths have brought Madhumita's domestic help Deshraj to Lucknow for further questioning.
The former minister, who had to quit following allegations of his involvement in the case, was grilled for over five hours by CBI the previous night and twice earlier in Delhi. The 24-year-old poetess was shot dead by unidentified assailants at her paper mill colony residence on may nine. Bureau Report
