Mumbai, July 31: Police today filed supplementary chargesheet under Pota in a special court against 13 accused including former secretary of banned Simi Saquib Nachan in the December 2 bomb blast in suburban Ghatkopar which claimed two lives and injured 30. This is the first case in Maharashtra in which Pota has been applied.
On April 9, police had filed 1100-page chargesheet against five other accused in this case, namely Dr Mohammed Abdul Mateen, Shaikh Mohammed Muzamil, Zahir Ahmed Bashir Ahmed, Imran Rehman Khan and Mohammed Altaf Ismail.
The 13 accused who were chargesheeted in the court of designated judge A P Bhangale include Arif Hussain Sabir Hussain Shaikh alias Arif Panwala, Haroon Rashid Mohammed Yamin Lohar, Rashid Ahmed Abdul Malik Ansari and absconding accused Taher alias Nasir Ahmed Ansari alias Janab who had planted a bomb in bus route number 416 on the ill-fated day.

Among the accused is Saquib Nachan who is also booked in three other cases of bomb blast in Vile Parle, Mulund and Mumbai Central.
All the accused are charged with conspiring to cause the blast in suburban Ghatkopar. Ten accused are shown as absconding in this case and the court has already issued red corner notices and non-bailable warrants against them.

Among the wanted accused is Nasir Ahmed Ansari alias Janab who is alleged mastermind along with Saquib Nachan in other explosions as well. He is close associate of Dr Jalis Ansari who was convicted under TADA(P) act in 1997 for creating 65 explosions.
