Chennai, Feb 10: The entire opposition, barring the BJP, today boycotted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's reply to the debate on motion of thanks to the Governor's address protesting against her 'absence' from the Assembly during the two-day debate. Soon after the question hour, when Ms Jayalalithaa rose from her seat to give her reply, the members of the Dmk, Congress, PMK, CPI and the CPI(M) immediately walked out of the house. Expressing surprise over the opposition members staging a walkout without giving an explanation, Ms Jayalalithaa clarified that she was not able to attend the house for the past two days due to her other commitments. The Chief Minister launched a tirade against the opposition for boycotting her speech and said people would teach them a lesson for not discharging their ''democratic duties.'' Bureau Report
