Muzaffarabad, May 01: Hizbul Mujahideen today criticised the US decision to place it on a terror watch list and urged Washington to take stock of "Indian state terrorism" in the restive region. "The decision by the United States is regrettable and shocking for US," Syed Salahuddin, Supreme Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen told a news agency. "The least we can say is that they (US) have made it to please India while ignoring the bitter ground realities in Kashmir," the Pakistan-based leader said.
The state department Wednesday released a list of 38 "other terrorist" groups which are not on its primary list of designated Foreign Terrorist Organisations (FTOs), but which the US believes need to be monitored.
The list identified Hizbul Mujahedeen and two other pro Pakistan Kashmiri militant groups, Jamiatul Mujahedin and al Badar Mujahedin.
