Jaipur, June 20: Several organisations of Brahmins in the state have come together to launch a joint agitation to seek their inclusion in other backward class (OBC) category before the year end assembly elections. The joint agitation would be conducted under the banner of 'Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha' till we get "justice", Brahmin leaders of seven organisations told reporters here today.

"We are not against reservation for poor on economic basis but we want Brahmins to be included in OBC category," president of Gaur Brahmin reservation action committee B. M. Sharma said.
The newly formed mahasabha would submit representation to the state OBC commission on June 25 and to Central OBC Commission on June 30 demanding inclusion of Brahmins in the OBC list, Sharma said.
Brahmins would hold rallies in every district and tehsil to build up pressure on political parties to support their cause, he added. Bureau Report
