Bangalore, July 07: The BSP-BJP government in Uttar
Pradesh headed by Mayawati would collapse in the next assembly
session, whenever it was held, Rashtriya Lok Dal President
Ajit Singh claimed today.
Singh wondered why the Mayawati government was not ready
to prove its strength on the floor of the house if the BSP-BJP
had the majority as it claimed.
"The BSP and the BJP have lost support. Whenever the session is called, government will go. There are no two questions about that," he told a meet-the-press programme, organised by the Press Club of Bangalore and the Bangalore Reporters` Guild. If the UP government was confident about its strength, why is it that the house was not being convened, he asked.
Singh, whose party withdrew support to the Mayawati government recently, claimed that 23 BJP MLA’s had raised a banner of revolt some time ago and the "the situation has worsened now".
On Ayodhya, he alleged that it was BJP`s "conspiracy" to ensure that the media focussed on only one issue, and matters pertaining to development were not raised. "Let the court decide (the ayodhya issue)," he said.
