Omar claims he can pull down Sayeed govt any time
Jammu, Nov 12: National Conference President Omar Abdullah today claimed he can pull down the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir any time and was waiting for an appropriate time to do so.
"How many more people should die? A lakh or two lakh before Mufti Sayeed dishes out his magic solution?" he said addressing an NC rally here.
Sayeed's silence was "intriguing" as the situation was worsening day by day and at least 10 innocent civilians were being killed daily, the NC chief said.
"If Sayeed has a solution for the Kashmir issue, then I
have the capacity to dislodge this government to overcome the
problems and bring peace to the trouble-torn state. That will
be done at an appropriate time," he said.
NC did not form the government after the polls despite
having the largest number of MLAs with a view to allowing its
detractors to form the government as they have been accusing
the party of misgovernance. "But, a year has passed under the
coalition rule, yet it has not fulfilled its promises made
under common minimum programme," he alleged.
