Hockenheim (Germany), Aug 04: World champions Ferrari admitted they had suffered their "most difficult and disappointing race of the season" here after rivals Williams dominated the German Grand Prix. The Italian team, who ran away with the championship last year with 15 wins from the 17 races, look to have been caught and passed by the in-form Williams team in the season run-in.
Brazilian Rubens Barrichello, who won the preceding race at Silverstone, started from third on the grid but was an innocent party in a three-car collision as the field headed into the first corner. His world champion team-mate Michael Schumacher looked set to finish a strong second after fighting his way up through the field but dropped to seventh when he suffered a puncture towards the end. The result leaves Ferrari just two points ahead in the Constructors' Championship and Schumacher six ahead of chasing Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya, who won the race yesterday. Bureau Report
