Ahmedabad, Oct 20: The Central Bureau of
Investigation has concluded its probe into the sensational
murder case of prominent BJP leader Haren Pandya, but only
after the arrest of four persons reported absconding including
main conspirator Mufti Sufiyan Patangiya will the entire
conspiracy come clear.
Patangiya, 30, a city based Mufti from the minority
dominated Dariapur area of the walled city, allegedly
masterminded the attack on Pandya and also managed "through
his fiery religious discources" to brainwash several youths
who were well-off and had no police record to take revenge on
Hindus for the post-Godhra communal violence in which several
Muslims were butchered.
CBI sources told pti that Patangiya was last known to have stayed at a hotel in Bangladesh along with another accused Sohail Khan Pathan two months ago and officials have not been able to trace their escape route from there onwards though it is believed that he might have escaped to Pakistan.
CBI sources also revealed that a red alert was sounded to Nepal police two months ago after intelligence inputs claimed that Patangiya and Pathan were planning to flee to Pakistan via Nepal after passing by Sitamari in Bihar, and that following the red-alert the two had failed to escape from this route.
