New Delhi, Nov 16: A fresh Tehelka-like scam blew in the face of BJP today ahead of assembly polls in five states when the party`s chief ministerial hopeful in Chhattisgarh and Union Minister Dilip Singh Judeo was caught in bribery charges in a video tape which purportedly shows him allegedly accepting money for helping an Australian firm gain mining rights in Orissa.
In a bid to capitalise on the issue, the opposition led by Congress demanded immediate dismissal and arrest of Judeo, union minister of state for environment and forest, who denied the allegation and ruled out his resignation.
BR> The BJP rallied behind him dubbing the video as a Congress` "conspiracy" to malign party leaders in view of coming assembly elections.
"After Bangaru Laxman and Jaya Jaitley (in Tehelka expose), it is now Judeo who has been caught on the camera accepting bribe....It is incumbent upon the Prime Minister to (proceed against) the minister caught in the act in the video clip" (published in Indian Express)," AICC general secretary Ambika Soni and spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters here.
