Nagpur, Oct 15: The Maharashtra Food and Drugs Administation (FDA) has initiated investigations into the alleged presence of worms in some capsules here, manufactured by a Goan pharmaceutical company, and withdrawn the entire stock from the state. Live worms were detected in Elferri capsules by a patient who had purchased the medicine from a chemist's shop at Ramdeshpeth yesterday.
The FDA Commissioner Uttam Khobragade told reporters in Mumbai today that all the stock of a particular batch of the capsule has been withdrawn from the entire state.
Once the laboratory reports are received, FDA will prosecute the Goa-based company, he added.
