New Delhi, Aug 18: Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day today after members suggested that Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should be present at the time of discussing the listed government motion on national population policy. The suggestion was made by TDP member Alladi P Rajkumar and supported by BJP member S S Ahluwalia soon after question hour.
Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat heeded to the request after taking sense of the House.
Both Rajkumar and Ahluwalia said the population policy was an important subject and they wanted to discuss it in the presence of the Prime Minister.
Vajpayee was not present in the House following Lok Sabha taking up the Opposition-sponsored no-confidence motion today. Bureau Report
