Jammu, Dec 08: A record number of over nine lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at Shiv-Khori shrine in Reasi town of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir this year. About 1.50 lakh more pilgrims, both from within and outside the state had visited the shrine this year as compared to last year, according to an official spokesman.
On average 2000 to 2500 pilgrims are daily reaching Ransoo, the base camp of the pilgrimage, for onward journey to the shrine of lord Shiva.
An amount of Rs 58.21 lakh is being utilized for construction of 2.75 kilometer tiled footpath from Ramsoo to Shiv-Khori shrine. Of this, Rs nine lakh has been spent so far for its construction, he said.
He said a comprehensive plan has been prepared for complete development of Shiv-Khori shrine, the spokesman said.
