New Delhi, May 28: Finding no response to his repeated demands for arrest of certain Delhi Congress leaders, city BJP president Madan Lal Khurana today asked Deputy Prime
Minister L K Advani to seek an explanation from CBI and Delhi Police as he suspected "political pressure" on these agencies.
Stating that he had written a letter to Advani, he wanted
to know why CBI had not filed a chargesheet against Chief
Minister Sheila Dikshit and her government's four ministers
although a case in an alleged Rs 100 crore advertisement scam
had been registered on February four last year.
Khurana also wanted Advani to ask CBI and Delhi Police why no action had been taken against deputy leader of ruling Congress in assembly Sheesh Pal in an alleged land scandal although six other accused had been arrested in the case registered on May 15, 2001.
Delhi police also must state why it has not arrested or prosecuted Bhagat Singh, father of Congress MLA Naseeb Singh, and former councillor Kalyan Singh in "sugar scandal" and "fodder scandal", Khurana said.
He said a delegation of Delhi BJP MPs and other state office bearers would meet Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Advani next week to seek punishment to the guilty.
"Corruption has become the hallmark in the Congress government in Delhi," he charged and alleged that the chief minister and all other ministers and "several Congress leaders" were "involved in corrupt acts".
"Several cases of land scandal and other illegal acts have been registered by the CBI and the Delhi Police. But due to political pressure, the congress leaders have not been prosecuted yet," he alleged. Bureau Report
