Nagpur, Nov 14: President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam will arrive here on his maiden visit to Maharashtra's second capital today to participate in the Children's Day function.
"Kalam would release an introductory book on 12 volumes of `Kumar Vishwa Kosh' (Encyclopaedia for Children) at the programme, jointly organised by state Marathi Vishwakosh Nirmiti Mandal, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad and local Sandipani School," president of the Vishwakosh Manda, Dr Shrikant Jichkar told newspersons here.
About 40,000 students from various schools would attend the programme to be presided over by state Governor Mohammad Fazal. Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Cultural Minister Ashok Chavan would also be present for the same, Jichkar, a former MP, said.
Fifteen selected students will field questions to Kalam during a dialogue with them. They would be presented a copy of Dr Kalam's book `India Vision 2020' and his signed photograph.
Six veteran teachers will be felicitated on the occasion, Jichkar added.
