Sharm-el-Sheikh, June 04: President Bush flew out of Egypt today heading for a crucial peace summit between Palestinians and Israelis in Jordan. Bush, who arrived in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday, departs with vital backing from five Arab leaders for the "road map" which outlines steps toward creating a Palestinian state in 2005.

In the Jordanian port city of Aqaba, Bush is seeking commitments from Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas to end 32 months of violence during a Palestinian uprising against occupation. Bureau Report
