London, June 09: A high-level parliamentary delegation led by Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Health and Family Welfare Sushma Swaraj today visited the Nehru Park in Budapest as part of its goodwill 4-day visit to Hungary. The 22-member delegation was welcomed by Ferenc Gegesy, mayor, Budapest Ferencvaros municipality.

Speaking on the occasion, Swaraj described Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first prime minister as an ardent believer in parliamentary democracy.

She was appreciative of the fact that the friendly Hungarian people had chosen to commemorate Nehru's memory in the 9th district of the Budapest and to designate that part of the Danube River in memory of Pandit Nehru.
She recalled that Nehru's love for nature was so immense that one of his last wishes was that after his death his ashes should be immersed in all rivers.
