Moscow, Nov 24: A fire broke out at a university dormitory in Moscow early today, killing four foreign students and injuring at least 18 other people, the Interfax news agency reported.
Firefighters found the bodies of the dead while trying to put out the blaze at the Patrice Lumumba Friendship of Peoples University, where many foreigners study, Interfax reported.
A duty officer at the Moscow Fire Department said the blaze was burning on the second, third and fourth floors of the building in Southwestern Moscow. She said there were dead and injured but could not confirm the numbers or the nationality of the victims.
Interfax reported that firefighters were using ladders to evacuate students from the burning dormitory. The agency said 24 firefighting units had been called to the scene of the three-alarm fire.
