Greensboro, Oct 19: Japan's Shigeki Murayama's lead narrows to three shots after the 3rd round in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Japan's Shigeki Maruyama recorded his highest score at the Greensboro Classic on Saturday but his two-under-par 70 still kept him three shots clear of Brad Faxon after three rounds. Maruyama, who opened the event with rounds of 65 and 64, is on 17-under 199, while Faxon, who shot a 68 on Saturday, is second on 202. Australian Peter Lonard, South Korea's K J Choi and Matt Gogel are tied for third on 205. Stuart Appleby, the winner of last week's Las Vegas Invitational, heads a group of five players on 206 including compatriot Robert Allenby, New Zealand's Steve Alker, David Sutherland and Stephen Ames of Trinidad and Tobago.
