Centre has nothing to do on raids against Mayawati: Jaitley
New Delhi, Oct 08: Even as BSP leader Mayawati, who had resigned as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, attacked Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee accusing him of being responsible for the CBI raids at her residences in the capital and Lucknow, Law Minister Arun Jaitley today said the Centre had nothing to do with these raids.
New Delhi, Oct 08: Even as BSP leader Mayawati, who
had resigned as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, attacked Prime
Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee accusing him of being
responsible for the CBI raids at her residences in the capital
and Lucknow, Law Minister Arun Jaitley today said the Centre
had nothing to do with these raids.
"The raids by the investigating agency has been carried
out at the directive of the supreme court and the agency would
give its report to the apex court. The government has nothing
to do with it," he told reporters here at "Pardafash rally"
organised by BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana.
"The government has nothing to do with these raids as they
have been carried out by the CBI on the directive of the
Supreme Court," he said.
