Brisbane, July 05: Batting prospect Mohammad Ashraful top scored with 61 as Bangladesh kept their nerve to register their first win on Australian soil. Academy skipper Aaron Nye (89 not out) denied himself a century by making a generous declaration which left the tourists a target of 230.
They made a shaky start, losing Javed Omar and Habibul Bashar in Mark Cleary's new ball spell.
Ashraful's arrival at the crease gave them renewed hope and 71 runs were added in an hour and a half for the third wicket before partner Hannan Sarkar was caught for 23.
Sanwar Hossain fell cheaply and when Ashraful edged Steve Magoffin to the wicket-keeper after hitting two sixes and eight fours to leave his side on 134-5, they still had plenty of work to do.

Khaled Mashud batted positively for 28 and Alok Kapali struck eight boundaries in his 44 before he became Magoffin's second victim.

By then, however, the tourists were only 19 short of their target and captain Khaled Mahmud guided them home to finish on 28 not out.
