Jaipur, Aug 10: In a lighter vein, BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan today revealed his aspiration for a top post at the Centre. Addressing a public rally here, Mahajan said whoever gets associated with Rajasthan ends up with a high position.
Referring to the Pokhran-II tests in Rajasthan in 1998, Mahajan said while A P J Abdul Kalam, who designed the bomb, later became the President, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who gave orders for the same, became the Prime Minister (for a second term). Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, who was the Chief Minister of the state at that time, became the Vice President.
"As the BJP incharge for the elections in Rajasthan, I also hope to get something," he said amidst laughter from the audience.
Mahajan, who was the communication and IT minister, was brought to the party for organisational work.
