London, Nov 03: Liverpool move up to seventh place in the Premiership after a 2-1 win over Fulham.
Midfielder Danny Murphy converted a late penalty to give Liverpool a 2-1 premier league victory over 10-man Fulham at Loftus Road on Sunday (November 2). Emile Heskey, who had scored twice in Liverpool's 4-3 midweek League Cup win over Blackburn Rovers, gave them a 17th minute lead, neatly volleying home Steve Finnan's cross.
French striker Louis Saha levelled for Fulham just before the break following good work by Steed Malbranque, whose pass was deflected into Saha's path by Steven Gerrard. Saha nearly put Fulham ahead four minutes after the break, but Jerzy Dudek managed to parry the strikers first time shot.

Liverpool came close to taking the lead in the 72nd minute, Vladimir Smicer running on to Michael Owen's header but his shot was well saved by Mark Crossley in the Fulham goal.

The match swung Liverpool's way in the last three minutes. Liverpool substitute Florent Sinama-Pongolle was first tripped for the penalty by defender Zak Knight and later felled by Luis Boa Morte, earning the Portuguese forward a red card.

The win moved Liverpool up to seventh place on 17 points, one place behind Fulham, who have 18.
