Mumbai, June 22: Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) recorded heavy net purchases in equities and debt at Rs 867.8 crore and Rs 525.8 crore respectively for trading week ended June 20. Mutual funds (MFs), however, remained net sellers in equities at Rs 91.62 crore during the period under review but registered net inflows of Rs 109.14 crore, according to data available with Securities and Exchange Board of India here.

FIIs, on June 18 made purchases of Rs 583.4 crore and sales of Rs 206 crore in equity market, thus netting inflows of Rs 377.3 crore, the highest for the week.
They also were net buyers at Rs 173.5 crore on June 19 and Rs 158.4 crore on June 16.

On debt front, the foreign funds recorded net inflows at Rs 225.6 crore on June 19 followed by Rs 103.6 crore and Rs 91.5 crore on June 20 and the first day of the trading week.
MFs were net sellers on three trading days in equities and netted their highest outflow of the week at Rs 38.13 crore on June 18 followed by Rs 34.69 on the next day. They, however, began the week with net purchases of Rs 4.69 crore. Bureau Report
