Islamabad, Apr 17: Reeling under the impact of being beaten by India, the Pakistani cricket establishment is contemplating "some changes" which could involve coach Javed Miandad and PCB CEO Rameez Raja. With the hosts humbled by arch-rivals India 2-1 in the Test series, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan said he was planning a revamp but it would not be drastic.
"Don't expect any radical changes or steps to be taken because we have lost the series to India. But, yes, we have pinpointed some areas of weaknesses where more expertise is required and we will be making some changes," he said.
The PCB chairman said the board's advisory council had taken note of certain "things that are not good for the team spirit and unison", indirectly referring to differences between captain Inzamam-ul Haq and fast bower Shoaib Akhtar.
"These are all things would be looked into after we do a post-mortem of the series from every aspect," he said.
On the reported tiff between Inzamam and team trainer Tauseef Razzaq, Shaharyar agreed with the skipper that how much the bowlers should be made to work out in the nets should be left to the team management.
Reacting to the PCB chief's comments, Miandad said, "if they want to appoint a bowling coach, a fielding coach or anyone else, I have no problem with that. It is their decision if they want me to go, I have no problems with that also." Bureau Report
