Karachi, Jan 26: Pakistan has detected avian influenza among chickens in the southern port city of Karachi, but there was no evidence yet that it has infected humans, an official of the agriculture ministry said on Monday.
"Yes, avian influenza has been detected in chickens in Karachi poultry farms," Saleem Khan, provincial director for livestock at the agriculture ministry, said.
"But no evidence has been found so far that the disease has spread to humans," he added.
