"There are a number of rumors of a 'day resistance'
throughout Baghdad on Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2,"
the office said in a statement.
"US citizens are encouraged to continue to maintain a high level of vigilance and continue to take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness," it said.
"The US consular office will be open for emergency services."
Baghdad has suffered a surge in violence this week, with a series of orchestrated car bomb attacks that killed 43 people and wounded more than 200 on Monday. Bureau Report
