After three days of scouring the sea and marshy creeks, the BSF located the missing fishermen on a muddy island yesterday.
The missing fishermen were safe but stranded on Shamlapir Island in Kori Creek with their boat "Sukh Sagar", H B Dave, Deputy Director of fisheries department of Gujarat, said. The BSF had yesterday joined Indian and Pakistani guards in the search operation during which helicopters and hovercraft were pressed into service.
The six had gone missing along with seven others after two boats 'Sukh Sagar' and 'Dhan Prasad" failed to reach Okha port where 28 other boats with the fishermen released from Pakistani jails touched on Sunday. 'Dhan Prasad' with seven fishermen had reached the shores on Monday.
The 269 Indian fishermen, including 30 members of cargo ship, were arrested by Pakistani officials for allegedly entering their waters illegally. Bureau Report
