New Delhi, Mar 13: Software services company HCL Perot will recruit upto 600 software professionals in Calendar 2003 to serve the existing and new verticals like retail and government that the company is planning to launch. "We will add 500-600 professionals in the Calendar 2003 to extensively serve our clients in the healthcare, travel, telecom and financial verticals and also the new verticals like government and retail", C P Gurnani, Coo, HCL Perot said today.
In the last quarter, the company added 150 professionals, he said. The company will tap campuses for hiring about 150 professionals and the remaining would be for lateral recruitment, he said, adding the idea is to develop solutions for specific verticals.
For example, a doctor would be important in developing healthcare solutions, Gurnani added. In fact out of the 600, 200 people would be engaged in healthcare, 100 each would be for telecom, financial and travel verticals and the remaining for the new verticals, he said.
The company's fresh recruitment will be mostly in India. However, part of the new professionals would also be deployed in overseas development centres, including the one coming up at Dallas, US. The company is also contemplating expanding its Asia Pacific operation and as part of that it is planning to convert its sales office in Australia into a 100 per cent subsidiary later this year, Gurnani said.
