Pathanamthitta, Dec 04: Elizabeth Mammen of the ruling UDF increased her lead by 2600 votes over her nearest LDF rival Verghese George when five rounds of votes were counted in the Thiruvalla assembly by-poll. The by-poll was necessitated by the death of Elizabeth Mammen's husband, Mammen Mathai of the Kerala Congress (M).
