New Delhi, Sept 30: BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu today said the byelection results reflected the popular mood in the country and Congress president Sonia Gandhi should concentrate on her party rather than criticising BJP. "The party is very happy about the outcome of the byelections particularly the defeat of the Congress in its strongholds of Sholapur and Ernakulam. These results show that people have lost confidence in the Congress and is the forerunner to the assembly elections in the four states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Chhattisgarh," he told reporters here.
He said the victory of BJP and CPI (M) in the Congress strongholds of Solapur and Ernakulam respectively showed that the people have rejected the main opposition party.
Besides, in the assembly byelections, the Congress had emerged in third place in Meghalaya, West Bengal and Orissa, he said.
