Kunming City, Aug 01: Ronaldo comments on his physical condition, training and sex during Real Madrid's tour in Asia
Wrapping up their week of training in China's southwestern city of Kunming, David Beckham, Ronaldo, Luis Figo and the other star players from Real Madrid took to the field once again on Thursday morning (July 31). Tens of thousands of Chinese fans have watched Real train over the last few days, paying between 180 and 780 yuan ($22-94) to watch the sessions. Real mania has taken hold in China but the team has caught its share of bad publicity in the early stages of their promotional swing through the Far East. The club left hundreds of paying, rain-drenched fans at practices and even government officials at banquets due to a string of scheduling foul-ups blamed on misunderstandings with local organisers. However, Beckham's larger-than-life image is sure to help Real build their brand in Asia and besotted fans have tracked his every move so far in China, where he is often referred to as "Little Bei" and, sometimes, "Brother Bei".

But at a press conference after Thursday's morning training, it was superstar Ronaldo who was in the spotlight.

Facing down questions about his weight, the Brazilian player said he hoped the daily training sessions will improve his fitness.

"I was on vacation for one month. I have started training again, my physical condition has been improving every day and we are just getting started so we can improve even more. With regard to Beckham's passes, I've noticed that they are very good and I hope we will understand each other during our matches," said Ronaldo.

Asked about the lack of sex during Real's extensive Asian Tour, Ronaldo said he could do without it -- but would make up for it afterwards.

"I think we're all professionals. We are working and right now we only think about being prepared and that's it. We have plenty of time for sex. We have our entire lives for that so two weeks without that is not going to kill us. We will make up for loss time afterwards," he said.

While Beckham has grabbed the spotlight since joining Real's constellation of stars, Ronaldo said he has won more cups than the British player.

"It could be. It's not important to me. Maybe I have won more cups than him or maybe he has a better a marketing agent than mine but this is not important for my career. I follow what I want and what I want is to continue to win as I imagine Beckam would also want to win more titles. So if he is more popular here than me maybe I am more popular than him in other places, but I don't see what is important in that subject. It's a meaningless comparison," he said.
