Pune, Sept 15: The Special Investigating Team (SIT), probing the multi-crore inter-state fake stamp paper racket, today filed a supplementary chargesheet against Samajwadi Janata Party (SJP) MLA, Anil Gote, and 15 others, spelling out their role in the whole scam. The chargesheet, running into more than 7,000 pages, was filed in the court of designated judge for Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), S M Shembole.
Besides Gote, the MLA from Dhule in Maharashtra, the chargesheet also documents the role of a police officer from Mumbai -- suspended Assistant Police Inspector Dilip Kamath, lawyer of the prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi -- advocate Rashid Kulkarni, Telgi's brother Azim and others. Gote was the first politician, to be arrested on June 30 under the provisions of MCOCA for having links with Telgi.
The first charge-sheet was filed against the kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi and 38 others on March 27 this year, which mentioned in details as to how Telgi's gang infiltrated into the Nasik-based India Security Press (ISP). The first charge-sheet was spread over 11,000 pages. Bureau Report
