Jakarta, Aug 16: Indonesia wants arrested top terror suspect Hambali to be brought here to stand trial as he is the most wanted terrorist in the country, Foreign Affairs Minister Hassan Wirajuda has said.
Speaking at a press conference here yesterday,
Wirajuda said Hambali's return to Indonesia would only be
possible through legal cooperation with other countries,
including the US.
He said it was possible to bring Hambali, allegedly involved in the Bali bombings, to Indonesia within the framework of cooperation with the US in the international war on terrorism.
Meanwhile, coordinating minister for political and security affairs Susilo Bambung Yudhoyono said Hambali's arrest could uncover terrorists' future plans.
"It is inconceivable that terrorists do not plan their acts of terror long before they carry them out," he said.
