Krishnaswami says armed forces ready for action
Panaji, Nov 30: Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswami today said threat to peace still existed in the country but the armed forces were well-prepared to meet any eventuality.
Panaji, Nov 30: Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswami today said threat to peace still existed in the country but the armed forces were well-prepared to meet any eventuality.
Addressing cadets after reviewing the passing out parade of the naval academy at the INS Mandovi near here, he said, “Today we are focussed on meeting the challenges of low intensity conflict that is being waged on us constantly.”
“Cooperation and coordination among the three services was essential to act fast and decisively,” an official release quoted Krishnaswami as saying.
Commending the cadets who passed out of the academy for their excellent turnout, the air chief highlighted the need to nurture the three dimensional characteristics of the navy in order to meet the challenges that were fast developing on our adjoining seas.
He also expressed happiness that the capability of the navy was growing fast and well.
As many as 135 cadets, including 20 women, passed out from the academy today on completion of their training.
The President's gold medal for the best all round cadet was bagged by cadet Raghu Vishwanathan, the chief of the naval staff silver medal went to cadet Uday Agarwal and the bronze medal was given by the academy to cadet Captain Pradeep Kumar.
