Lucknow, Sept 19: All India Muslim Personal Law Board today said that it would move a higher court challenging the Rae Bareli court verdict discharging Deputy Prime Minister Minister L K Advani from the Ayodhya case if the CBI failed to file a revision petition soon.
'Muslims will not let L K Advani go scot free in the Ayodhya trial and will challenge the Rae Bareli court decision in a higher court in case the CBI fails to file a revision petition soon, AIMPLB Mamber Zafaryab Jilani said here .
"Advani had actively taken part in the demolition by provoking, inciting and conspiring with others who actually pulled down the structure and should not go unpunished," Jilani, also the convener of All India Babri Masjid action committee, alleged.
He said that the Patna meeting of the AIMPLB scheduled for October 18 and 19 will discuss the issue in detail and if the senior lawyers so suggest the board will itself pursue the matter.
"We will consult our lawyers pursuing the issue in the Supreme Court and would then chalk out our legal course," he said adding today's verdict has proved beyond doubt that the CBI had "diluted" the charges against Advani.
"We had through a public interest litigation filed in the Supreme Court in August last, sought a direction from the CBI to file the chargeshhet filed on October 5, 1993 and the issue is still pending in the apex court," he said adding as for the Muslims are convinced about Advani's role in the Babri mosque demolition.
