Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 05: The crisis-ridden Congress-led United Democratic Front government in Kerala, today deferred till next week, the decision on the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front opposition demand to convene the assembly immediately. The letter submitted by the opposition in this regard was presented before the cabinet, which decided to hold detailed discussions at the next cabinet meeting on November 12, Chief Minister A K Antony told reporters.
The opposition had submitted a memorandum to Antony last week, demanding that he call the assembly session to discuss their motion for removing the Speaker Vakkom Purushothaman. Antony, who will leave for Delhi later in the day to discuss party affairs with party president, expressed confidence over the stability of the UDF government. "It will not be possible for anyone to sabotage the government, however much they try", he said.
On the Karunakaran faction`s demand for a leadership change in the state, Antony said "Everyone has the right to dream." Bureau Report
