New Delhi, May 07: The Supreme Court today stayed the trial proceedings against MDMK leader Vaiko in the Pota case invoked against him by the Tamil Nadu government.
The court also issued notice to the state government while fixing further hearing on Vaiko`s petition after the summer vacation.
Earlier, the Central Pota Review Committee had given a clean chit to Vaiko. However, Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s government had filed a petition against the verdict in the Madras High Court.
The Madras HC had rejected Tamil Naidu government`s plea and asked for all cases under Pota against the MDMK chief to be scrapped. Bureau Report
