New Delhi, Nov 11: In an unprecedented act, counsel of an accused in the Red Fort shoot-out case today slapped a police personnel after an altercation over the proximity of the advocate to the documents in sealed cover.
Counsel R M Tuffail, who was appearing for one of the main accused Ashfaq - an LeT terrorist belonging to Pakistan - took offence to the caution sounded by special cell
sub-inspector Harinder Singh asking him not to go close to the sealed documents brought for the perusal of additional session judge O P Saini.
Enraged by the accusation of the police officials "not to tamper with or break the seal of the documents", Tuffail slapped the police official but soon after tendered an unconditional apology realising his folly.
